THE message of Mr Tony Blair's recent post election speech in Belfast was that the British would stay in Northern Ireland for at least the next 90 years, Mr Michael McManus of Republican Sinn Fein told that party's annual Wolfe Tone commemoration at Bodenstown, Co Kildare.
He quoted Mr Blair's statement that there would "not be a united Ireland in the lifetime of even the youngest person in the audience".
Mr McManus, a former prisoner from Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, who is a member of RSF's ardchomhairle, said: "One can only conclude that British policy and by extension British occupation will continue indefinitely or at least to the year 2085 or thereabouts."
Volunteers remained "loyal to the Republic, who are prepared and capable of carrying on the struggle under the leadership of the Continuity Army Council," Mr McManus said.
