Gary Breen will use the World Cup to advertise himself to new clubs after Coventry City released him from his contract.

Breen, whose contract was to expire this summer and who had rejected a new offer from the club, was one of 11 players to be released by new boss Gary McAllister, who took charge yesterday.

Breen (28) was at the Sky Blues for six seasons and is expected to join a Premiership club. Newcastle manager Bobby Robson is known to be an admirer.
