Boy dies in Co Monaghan gas explosion

A teenage boy who died last night following a suspected gas explosion at his Co Monaghan home, has been named.

A teenage boy who died last night following a suspected gas explosion at his Co Monaghan home, has been named.

15-year-old Christopher Fealy died following the explosion at his home in Carrickmacross. His two sisters were in an adjoining room and one suffered minor injuries to her hand.

The children’s parents were not in the house at the time of the incident.

A Garda spokesman said two gardaí who were called to the scene at around 10.30 p.m. were also treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.
