A 15-year-old boy who was held for two nights in a Dublin city-centre Garda station because there was no room for him at Trinity House detention centre in Co Dublin has been released on bail to appear before the Children's Court on September 21st.

The boy had been remanded in custody to Trinity House last Saturday following a number of road traffic offences. During a search for suitable accommodation a district judge remanded him to Garda HQ at the Phoenix Park.

As there was no room for him at Trinity House he was held at Fitzgibbon Street Garda station on last Saturday and Sunday nights.
