Booking `events'

The Lebanese do not talk about their 25-year civil war - 19751990. They refer to those years as "the events" much as we refer to "the Troubles". It is said of them that they learned nothing from the years of devastation. In resonance of our Civil War, a new history of Lebanon for schools, in preparation for many years, has still not appeared because the civil war has to be dealt with.
