Bohemians returned to the top of the eircom League Premier Division with a convincing 3-0 win over Monaghan United this evening.

Fergal Harkin opened scoring for the league champions after 12 minutes before last year’s leading goal scorer, Glenn Crowe, doubled Bohs’ tally two minutes later. It was Crowe’s fourth league goal of the season.

Midfielder Dave Morrison wrapped up a sound night’s work with Boh’s third in the 72nd minute to leave United firmly rooted at the bottom of the table and yet to win a game.

St Patrick’s Athletic were able to put the ongoing saga of playing an unregistered player behind them by defeating Bray Wanderers 2-0 at home.

Paul Osam made manager Pat Dolan’s half-time team talk easier with a goal just before the interval. Livingstone Mbabazi sealed the win with St Pat’s second right on the stoke of full-time. The win moves St Pat’s up to fourth.

Elsewhere, Longford Town and Dundalk played out a two-all draw at Flancare Park. Eric Lavine put the home team ahead after 11 minutes but Jonathan Prizeman equalised for Dundalk 10 minutes later.

Longford were reduced to 10 men two minutes before half-time when Keith O’Connor got sent-off after fouling Noel Melvin. However, Lavine put the 10-man Longford side ahead once again with his second of the evening after 76 minutes.

It was short lived as Martin Reilly got the better of Longford ‘keeper Stephen O’Brien 13 minutes later to give the visitors a share of the points.
