The family of Joby Murphy has expressed relief after the body of a man was recovered from the river Lagan. Police said the body has not yet been formally identified but his father Joe Murphy is confident the body is that of his 20-year-old son who went missing in late January.

Police divers recovered the body from the river on Saturday afternoon.

The Mallow search and rescue team from Co Cork using specialised sonar equipment also assisted in the search.

He went missing after attending a concert in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on January 25th. It is suspected that he drowned after falling from the footbridge at the Lagan Weir.
