Police searching for a man who went missing at a Co Antrim quarry have found a body.

Police searching for a man who went missing at a Co Antrim quarry have found a body.

David Leyland (23), a site supervisor at the Biffa Waste Services site on the Mallusk Road in Newtownabbey, was last seen on Thursday afternoon working near a piece of machinery.

The alarm was raised when he failed to clock off later in the day.

Police said conditions on the site were more treacherous than normal because of flooding caused by recent heavy rainfall.

Mr Leyland, who had worked on the site since he was 17, was recently married.
