Harare - A bomb blast yesterday destroyed a printing press belonging to a privately owned Zimbabwe newspaper critical of the government, causing extensive damage to equipment but no injuries, company officials said.
"There was a bomb explosion at around 3 a.m. No one was injured, but the damage was quite extensive and we won't be able to print tomorrow's paper," said Mr Muchadeyi Masunda, chief executive officer of Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe, which publishes the Daily News.
The deputy editor, Mr Davison Maruziva, said that staff would go to work immediately and would try to find an alternative press to bring out the paper.
