Feyenoord midfielder Brett Emerton is to meet Blackburn manager Graeme Souness today to discuss a move to Ewood Park.

A number of Premiership clubs are reportedly chasing the £3 million rated Australia international.

Souness is looking to replace David Dunn - who completed his £5.5 million move to Birmingham today - and sees Emerton as the ideal candidate.

"We are talking to Brett today and we are hopeful that something will happen," Souness told the BBC.

"He is a very good player and obviously there is talk of other clubs being interested, but we will speak to him and hope something gets done."

Souness also expects to clinch the £1.25 million signing of Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso in the "next few days".
