Belmullet in Co Mayo was the place to be yesterday as it broke the record for the highest temperature in September and was warmer than some parts of Spain.
A spokesman for the Meteorological Service said the temperature in Belmullet broke the September record when it reached 25.4 Celsius and was comparable to some places in Spain like Malaga. In fact, a few resorts in Spain were cooler with cloudy weather. The Indian summer is to continue for the next couple of days.
