Police in the North have seized counterfeit goods for the third time this week.

Officers from the Serious Crime Squad led a raid on a house in the Dundonald area of Belfast this morning and found counterfeit CDs and equipment for copying CDs. They estimated the value of the goods at £30,000 sterling.

On Tuesday, police seized goods including CDs, DVDs and clothes from stall-holders at the Old Lammas Fair in Ballycastle, Co Antrim.

The day before they intercepted a consignment of similar goods they believed were going to the fair at Belfast Harbour. The collective value of the two seizures is estimated at £260,000.

Police say republican and loyalist paramilitaries are involved in the counterfeiting operations and that prosecutions will follow.
