A murder charge against a man from the Shankill area was withdrawn in Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday

A murder charge against a man from the Shankill area was withdrawn in Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday. Mr Samuel Black (47) had been in custody since March, accused of murdering Ms Margaret Johnston (52) in her Montreal Street home six months ago.

Ms Johnston's relatives shouted abuse at Mr Black after a prosecuting lawyer withdrew the charge. No reason was given.
