England skipper David Beckham today said he hopes to be fit for Wednesday's friendly against Holland in Amsterdam.

Beckham suffered injuries to both ankles in United's 2-0 win at Charlton yesterday in challenges with Jason Euell and Scott Parker.

The midfielder will not train today but, speaking at the launch of England's World Cup kit in London today, said he expects to be fit to face the Dutch.

"I got three or four knocks on the same spot," Beckham said. "I won't be training today but, fingers crossed, I will tomorrow.

"Hopefully I will play on Wednesday - it should clear up. It's an England game and anyone does anything to get fit for any England game," Beckham said.

"It's always good to meet up with the lads, we don't get much time but the time we do get we enjoy and we're looking forward to it".
