Actor Drew Barrymore likes to run naked through Irish wheat fields to find her acting motivation, she said in an interview published in New York yesterday.

Barrymore (right), who toured Dublin, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary and Galway on her 2001 honeymoon and has returned to Ireland numerous times, said she likes to park her car at the side of the road and run naked through the crops. "I'll . . . run out into the field and rip all my clothes off and just run in the wheat fields naked. That's for no one to see.

"That's to have that freedom of feeling, like, at one with nature," she told Parade magazine.

Barrymore fell in love with the Irish countryside while on a 10-day honeymoon with comedian Tom Green in August 2001. They divorced the following year.

In her latest interview, Barrymore said her romps through the countryside alarm some people as she is supposed to have ended her "wild child" partying days.

"I'm so responsible now that when I do do it, it's almost surprising."

A call to Barrymore's publicist, Chris Miller, to ask if farmers were compensated for damage to crops, has not yet been returned.
