A Co Galway hotel bar manager, who claimed he was thrown out of a Michael Flatley Riverdance event at The Point theatre in Dublin and assaulted by security men, has settled his action for up to £30,000 damages against The Point Exhibition Company and Event Guard Ltd.

Mr Sean O'Grady, of Cleaghmore, Ballinasloe, told Judge Liam Devally in the Dublin Circuit Civil Court yesterday that when he and his girlfriend returned to their seats after the interval a security man told him he could not resume his seat as there had been a complaint about his behaviour.

When he refused to watch the remainder of the show from a chair beside a fire exit, four "bouncers" had put him to the ground and dragged him down stairs before throwing him out the entrance door.
