Playmaker Michael Ballack, who has been struggling with a strained calf muscle, was named in Germany's starting line-up for their last 16 match against Paraguay today.

Coach Rudi Voller made four changes from the team that beat Cameroon in their last game.

Carsten Ramelow is suspended after being sent off against Cameroon while English-based midfielders Christian Ziege and Dietmar Hamann are out after picking up two yellow cards in the opening phase.

Carsten Jancker meanwhile was relegated to the bench.

In their places come Marko Rehmer, Oliver Neuville, Jens Jeremines and Marco Bode.

Miroslav Klose leads the attack, looking to add to the five goals he has already scored in the tournament.

Paraguay made two changes from the side that beat Slovenia 3-1.

Out go Guido Alvarenga and Carlos Paredes and in come Estanislao Struway and Carlos Bonet.

At stake is a quarter-final against the United States or Mexico.
