The case of the Leeds United footballer, Eirik Bakke, charged with drink-driving was today adjourned by magistrates.

The case of the Leeds United footballer, Eirik Bakke, charged with drink-driving was today adjourned by magistrates.

The midfielder was arrested at his home in the Alwoodley area of Leeds in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The 25-year-old Norwegian international was not present at brief hearing at Leeds Magistrates Court and the case was adjourned until January 31st when the footballer is expected to enter a plea.

No details of the incident were given at the hearing.

Bakke joined Leeds United in May 1999 from his home town club Sogndal in Norway for stg£1.75 million.
