Kinshasa - Opposition leader Mr Francois Lumumba has been freed by Democratic Republic of Congo authorities after his arrest in Kinshasa over two weeks ago. "I have been freed unconditionally," the government critic and leader of the National Congolese Movement said after his release on Wednesday evening.
President Laurent Kabila banned all political party activity after overthrowing the regime of Mobutu Sese Seko in May 1997.
