At least seven workers were trapped when part of a building collapsed in the northern coastal city of Genoa this morning.
"We have confirmed the collapse of a building currently being reconstructed," a fireman said. "As far as the workers are concerned, there are at least seven or eight people trapped underneath."
It was not immediately clear what had caused the collapse or what condition the trapped workers were in, he added.
