Vienna - The Austrian Interior Minister, Mr Karl Schloegl, dismissed demands yesterday that he resign over the death of a Nigerian asylum-seeker while being deported, bound and gagged. "I reject completely any personal responsibility," he told the Kurier newspaper.
After being refused asylum in Austria, the 25-year-old man, named only as Marcus O., was taken by three Austrian police officers on Saturday on a Balkan Air flight to Sofia. He was pronounced dead shortly after the plane landed in the Bulgarian capital.
