A NUMBER of people were detained by tile RUC yesterday following a search and arrest operation in nationalist west Belfast. Those arrested were taken for questioning to Castlereagh Holding Centre.
It is understood the arrests are linked to the IRA bombing of the British army headquarters at Thiepval Barracks in Lisburn last month in which a British soldier was killed. Police would only say those detained are being held in connection with "serious crime in the greater Belfast area".
