Titleholder Lance Armstrong won his first stage in this year's Tour de France as he blitzed main rival JanUllrich in the 209km 10th stage between Aix-les-Bains and Alpe d'Huez today.

The American, whose move on his Telekom rival early on the 14km Alpe d'Huez climb left him with only stage leader Laurent Roux to overtake, crossed the 1850m summit finish line in 6hr 23min 47sec.

France's Francois Simon, with Bonjour, takes the overall leader's yellow jersey from Australian Stuart O'Grady.
