Armed gang uses jeep in Dublin raid

An armed gang has escaped after an unsuccessful raid on the Bank of Ireland at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre this evening.

An armed gang has escaped after an unsuccessful raid on the Bank of Ireland at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre this evening.

Three men were involved in the attempt, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun. The men drove a jeep through the front doors and threatened staff but nobody was injured and no money was taken.

The men made their escape on two motorbikes which were later found abandoned in nearby Orchardstown Park.
