The Leas-Ceann Comhairle, Dr Rory O'Hanlon (pictured below), and the deputy leader of the SDLP, Mr Seamus Mallon, have confirmed they will address a public rally organised by farmers in south Armagh on Sunday to highlight a campaign for a reduction of British army activity in the area.

The organisers said yesterday they had met the Archbishop of Armagh, Dr Sean Brady, about their campaign. Mr Declan Fearon, group chairman, said the 60-minute meeting was "very helpful".
