Bradford - Church leaders have apologised after handing out three-inch nails to young children during a lesson about the Crucifixion.

Parents complained about their children's safety after the nails were given to seven and eight-year-olds to take home from a visit to Bradford Cathedral. The Provost of Bradford, the Very Rev John Richardson, said the exercise was carried out with the full co-operation of St Luke's Church of England First School, but would not be repeated.
