A man has appeared in court in Larne, Co Antrim, charged with offences relating to a bomb explosion in the village of Glenarm last week.

Mr Richard Hastings (27), a salmon farmer from the village, faces three charges of attempted murder, possessing an explosive device and causing an explosion with intent to endanger life on December 17th.

The court heard when arrested and charged at Strand Road RUC station on Monday, Mr Hastings had answered "no" to each of the charges. He was remanded in custody to appear at the Maze Court, Co Antrim, on January 14th.
