Mr Colm Allen SC, for the Baileys and Bovale, apologised yesterday for a remark on Thursday directed at his colleague, Mr Frank Callanan SC. Mr Allen said of Mr Callanan, who represents Mr James Gogarty: "Mr Callanan . . . is beginning to jump up and down with the frequency that one would normally associate with the bloomers of members of the oldest profession." Yesterday he said: "I wish to avail of this opportunity to apologise to him and to express the hope that he was not too offended." "That is very gracious. I wasn't unduly upset," Mr Callanan responded.
