Irish Aid will open its first public office, on Dublin's O'Connell Street, later this month.
The Volunteering and Information Centre aims to raise awareness of general development issues and Irish Aid's work in tackling global poverty.
Irish Aid is the Government's overseas development programme which works with international agencies to tackle deprivation and inequality in the developing world.
Last year Ireland spent €815 million in funding to more than 90 countries.
The new Centre, located beside the Savoy Cinema, will also provide information on development-related volunteering opportunities.
An Irish Aid spokesman added: "The Centre will feature a range of interactive displays, an exhibition area, a conference area for 100 people and a workshop area with a capacity for 30."
The facility is aimed at teachers, students and children as well as the general public.
The Simon Cumbers Media Challenge Fund, which was established by Irish Aid, also currently provides assistance to media organisations to provide coverage of development-related issues abroad.
