London - British agriculture ministers met yesterday to discuss a crisis aid package to bail out sheep farmers facing collapsing lamb prices and slaughter costs that many cannot afford.

As the farming industry said it faced its worst period since the 1930s, the Agriculture Secretary, Mr Nick Brown, held talks with opposite numbers from the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly to discuss aid to pay for sheep cull costs.
