ISLAMABAD - The Afghan Taleban militia battled to the eastern edge of Kabul yesterday and a senior UN official said they could be on the verge of seizing the city.
A special meeting of the UN Security Council was held after an Afghan government call for a UN ceasefire. The government accused Pakistan of backing the Taleban.
