The announcement by the Minister for Law Reform, Mr Taylor, that the Powers of Attorney Act 1996 will come into effect shortly has been welcomed by the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. The Act allows for a power of attorney that remains in force after a person has lost mental capacity.
