The chairman of the board of the National Theatre Society Ltd (the Abbey), Mr James Hickey has been re-elected to the post for a further three years.

The playwright, Bernard Farrell, has been co-opted on board to replace Frank McGuinness.

Also co-opted was staff representative Mr Tony Wakefleld, who replaces Mr Michael Doyle.

New shareholders elected include the actress, Kathleen Barrington; the artistic director of the National Youth Council of Ireland, Ms Monica Corcoran; Mr Fiach MacConghail, of the Project Arts Centre, and the playwright/director Mr Peter Sheridan.
