Nearly 50 MPs, mostly Labour, have signed a House of Commons early day motion which welcomed the review of the business activities of the royal family and called for "a register of royal interests" to be considered.
The 47 MPs backed the motion which "applauds the decision of Buckingham Palace to consider issuing guidance on how the business affairs of working members of the royal family might be conducted in future".
The motion said "a register of royal interests along the lines of the House of Commons Register of Members' Interests should be considered" and urged the palace to consult MPs on what guidance royals should be given.
It also said the Commons select committee on public administration should conduct an inquiry and make recommendations.
