46 are killed as airplane crashes in Iran

A Ukrainian passenger airplane crashed in Iran yesterday killing all 46 people on board, the Iranian transport minister said.

The airplane, carrying 42 passengers and four crew, originated in the Black Sea city of Trabzon in northeastern Turkey, an airport official in Ankara said.

Iranian TV said the passengers were experts from a Ukrainian aerospace organisation. They were headed from Turkey to Isfahan in central Iran to test a new plane. - (Reuters)
