22 women's projects to get €5m

More than €5 million has been approved in grant aid for 22 projects aimed at promoting equality for women.

More than €5 million has been approved in grant aid for 22 projects aimed at promoting equality for women.

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr O'Donoghue, said this brought to 70 the number of projects supported by the measure, which is co-funded by the EU.

The funds will be spent on improving access to employment, education and training and on encouraging career development and entrepreneurship. Grants will also be given for innovative projects for disadvantaged women and for women over 50 years old. Gender balance in decision-making will also be promoted under the measure.
