Well over 156,000 new cars have been registered in the first five months of this year, a 44.75 per cent jump from the same period of 1999. In May 26,321 new cars were registered, an increase of 44.37 per cent on May 1999.
Ford is leading the new-car market with 17,246 sales, followed by Nissan and Toyota.
