JAKARTA - At least 136 people have died in election clashes which degenerated into mass riots in the South Kalimantan capital of Banjarmasin, police said yesterday, as the search for more bodies continued.
A policeman said he had found 131 charred bodies in a building set alight by protesters during riots. More than 180 people were arrested in connection with the riots, which erupted on the last day of Indonesia's campaign for Thursday's elections.
