Eleven people will appear at a special sitting of Dundalk District Court this afternoon after a serious disturbance in the town early this morning.
According to a Garda spokesman, between 60 and 70 people were involved in the disturbance which saw windows broken and rocks and bottles thrown in the Muirhevnamor estate between 2 and 5 a.m.
Eleven people were arrested and charged with Public Order Offences and peace was restored to the area after 6 a.m.
