For the past few months we have been running a competition to find the best amateur travel writer for 2015. Readers submitted close to 600 entries from which we selected 45 for a longlist and from these a final ten for a shortlist.
For the past seven days we've run an online poll to find out which are your favourites. That poll is now closed but we received thousands of votes. These will go towards 30 per cent of the overall award. The remaining 70 per cent will be awarded by our judging panel.
The panel includes Orna Mulcahy, Managing Editor, Features; Rachel Collins, Irish Times journalist; Gary Quinn, Features Digital Editor; Ciara Kenny, Irish Times journalist; Emer Sugrue, Irish Times journalist and Aoife Valentine, Irish Times journalist.
