THE SOCIAL NETWORK:It's awards season, and on Wednesday in Dublin the entertainment.iewebsite held a party at The Village venue and nightclub on Wexford Street, Dublin, to announce the winners of its annual Erics awards.

Awards included “Ledgebag” of the Year and an award for best tweeter. Musical duo Ellie and Louise MacNamara, aka Heathers, can judge for themselves when they go to the US soon to perform at the Oscar Wilde pre-Academy Awards party in LA.

The twins also picked up an Eric for Best Music Act and performed on the night, alongside acts including Delorentos.

The RTÉ weather presenter Jean Byrne won an award for Best TV Personality and was wondering how she would get the rather large Eric into the taxi on the way home. Riyadh Khalaf, who won Bachelor of the Year, had a different kind of car trouble, which caused him to miss the presentation of the award. Wanting to arrive in style, he asked a friend to pick him up in his Bentley, but it broke down en route. Khalaf, who works at Spin 1038, said he was delighted to be named Bachelor of the Year.

Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson introduced an award with emerging actor Aaron Heffernan. Gleeson is in his third year at Trinity College and will return to filming the HBO series next summer.

Other young screen actors who were hitting the dancefloor at the end of the night were a mixed crew, mostly known from Love/Hate and hit Irish film What Richard Did, both of which won Erics in their categories. Gavin Drea was in both of those, and in the DruidMurphy world tour, and is working on an Irish short film called Beirt le Chéile with the actor Peter Coonan. Coonan, who is best known as Fran in Love/Hate, attended with Sam Keeley, who played Conor in What Richard Did and is Philip in Raw.
