Two five-bedroom detached houses in a recently built Co Kildare development have come back on the market at Johnstown, near Naas. Numbers 4 and 12 Furness Manor are for sale by private treaty through joint agents Anne Kelly and Sherry FitzGerald O'Reilly, priced at £485,000 (615,820) and £375,000 (476,150) respectively.

Furness Manor - a small estate of 21 detached houses close to the village - was completed earlier this year. The owners of the houses for sale are both senior IT executives, who transferred to Ireland last December and March and are now returning to the UK. In the case of both houses, the price tags are significantly lower than the prices originally paid.

Number 4 originally cost £600,000 (761,840). It is now for sale for £485,000 (615,820).The 3,000-plus sqft of accommodation includes Italian marble entrance hall floors, light mahogany interior woodwork and a smart cherrywood kitchen/breakfastroom with granite worktops.

There is a cherrywood conservatory off the breakfast area and a separate office/study has an ISDN line. The mahogany staircase and landing are laid with a specially-commissioned Navan carpet and the house has a built-in vacuum system.
