TREASURY Holdings is to offload the former St Stephen's School at Northumberland Road, Dublin 4, following the granting of planning permission to convert and extend it for use as a 31-bedroom hotel. Finnegan Menton is seeking tenders for either a development lease or the sale of the freehold interest in the property, which fronts on to the Grand Canal at Mount Street Bridge as well as Northumberland Road. The agents say that the hotel site is likely to be of interest to publicans and restaurateurs, as well as hotel operators.

The planning permission provides for the use of the three principal classrooms as the main public rooms and the development of a two-storey over lower ground floor wing to the rear to accommodate kitchens and bedrooms.
