Site sells for £500,000

A SITE of almost half an acre in Ranelagh, Dublin 6, has been sold at auction for £500,000. The site, which is situated at Upper Hollybank Road, backs onto Gonzaga College and is zoned residential.

It contains a two storey house and a commercial/office showroom. Bidding opened at £300,000 and moved quickly up in £20,000 bids, before slowing down at £480,000.

The property was bought by a Dublin based builder. It is understood the site will be used for residential development. The sale was handled by Lisney.

Gunne achieved £126,500 for 2 Cranfield Place, Sandymount, Dublin 4. The two bedroom house had been substantially redesigned and upgraded. Features include period fireplaces, polished wooden floors and a maple kitchen.

A double fronted single storey old world style cottage at 68 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, made £54,000 at auction. The two bedroom property includes a large rear garden. Sherry FitzGerald handled the sale.

A parcel of land at Oldtown, Co Dublin, was withdrawn by Gunne. The 5.5 acre site has planning permission for 10 bungalows.

Newtown House, Naas, Co Kildare has been sold at auction in a series of lots. The residence, a two storey Georgian property with five bedrooms together with 51 acres, made £460,000. Lot 2, comprising 43 acres, made £150,000, while lot 3, a yard and 51 acres made £177,000. The fourth lot, comprising 35 acres made £94,000.

The sale was handled by Coonan Auctioneers. The same agents are handling the sale of Ashfield Stud, a residence and stables on 20 acres also in Co Kildare. It was with drawn from auction at £150,000 and is under negotiation.

Ballintry House Kilbride Clonee, Co Meath was sold prior to auction by Ganly Craigie. The agents had been quoting a guideline price of £450,000-£500,000 for the two property on 80 acres. It is understood the property made well in excess of this figure.

Clara Lodge, Laragh, Co Wicklow, made £143,000 when. sold at auction by Jackson Stops & McCabe. The four bedroom property is situated on a one acre elevated site overlooking the Vale of Clara.

The same agents also handled the sale of a three bedroom house at Raheen Park in Bray, Co Wicklow, with good views of the promenade. It was sold prior to auction, and the agents had been quoting a guideline price of £80,000-£90,000.

A two bed cottage on half an acre, at Annacarter, Roundwood in Co Wicklow, has been sold at auction by Harrington Lait for £87,000. The premises was in need of renovation.

The same agents were handling the sale of Curlew Bank, Brittas Bay, near the church. An old bungalow on one acre, it was withdrawn at £86,000, and sold later for a higher figure.

Harrington Lait also handled the sale of Church Hill, Wicklow town, a mid terrace three bedroom Victorian residence. It was with drawn at £56,000 and sold later for a much higher figure.
