THE Dublin planners are to decide shortly whether to allow the development of another retail park in north Dublin. UK-based development company Tansan Properties proposes to build 38,000 square feet of retail space at the junction of the Oscar Traynor Road and Coolock Drive, close to the intersection with the Malahide Road. The three-acre site was bought from the Walden Motor Company for around £400,000. Eoin Conway of letting agents Aston Chase Properties said it was unlikely that the anchor store would be pitched at DIY operators because Woodies and Atlantic were already on the northside. Aston Chase expected the traders would handle furniture, interior design, tiles, electrical goods and toys. A 3,000-square-foot unit was also being earmarked as a convenience store. He said they were in negotiations with a number of occupiers and expected to pre-let all the units at rents of £8.50 for the 20,000-square-foot anchor store and £10.50 for smaller units.
