Commercial property expert Niall Gaffney has been appointed deputy chief executive of the Irish Property Unit Trust (IPUT)

Commercial property expert Niall Gaffney has been appointed deputy chief executive of the Irish Property Unit Trust (IPUT). Gaffney will succeed Gus MacAmhlaigh as chief executive when he retires in September. As investment manager of the trust for the past six years, the new deputy chief executive has overseen the implementation of investment strategy and the overall performance of the trust's portfolio.

Over at CB Richard Ellis, Conal Regan has been been appointed as a director of international investment. Regan came to CB Richard Ellis from the private banking division of Allied Irish Banks (AIB) where he was involved in commercial property transactions. In his new position, Regan will focus on sourcing investment opportunities around Europe.

Ray Grehan's Glenkerrin Group has appointed Sean O'Gorman and Andy Ellard as directors, bringing to four the company board membership. Sean O'Gorman, who will manage UK operations for the firm, joined Glenkerrin from John Sisk & Son. Andy Ellard will control financial operations from the company's Maynooth headquarters. Ellard came to Glenkerrin from the Nedbank Group in 2000.

Owenass Developments of Portarlington has appointed Jason Redmond as general manager. Redmond worked for 12 years with Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers, heading up the firm's civil engineering and project management divisions and ending as company director. He will have a major role in the construction of Bellingham, the latest Owenass scheme in Portlaoise.

Environment consultancy White Young Green has a new sustainability director in Richard Linger, who will be responsible for expanding WYG's new Sustainability Bureau, launched last September. Linger previously worked with Deloitte, British Petroleum and Shell.
