Hot on the heels of the "sale agreed" sign going up on number 40 Highfield Road in Rathgar comes another similar house on the market just a few doors down at number 32. It's for sale through Sherry FitzGerald for an asking price of €1.7million.

In many ways it’s much the same proposition as its neighbour – a large two-storey over garden level family home with a long back garden and good off-street parking, a must on this busy road.

This is a large, superbly located comfortable family home and while Dublin 6 is one of those areas where demand is high and prices high, €1.7 million would seem a very strong price for this house as new owners will most likely update the décor from top to bottom, including a more contemporary style kitchen and new bathroom.

They might also want to look at extending into the garage and utility room which will add to the cost.
