New homes in Kinsealy from €425,000

Well-finished properties just a short hop from the seaside provide spacious surrounds for growing families

Relative tranquility resides on the outskirts of the city with these well-finished homes which provide room for growing families in spacious surrounds.

The scheme of 38 houses is the first development project from Maybury Properties, which is headed by Shane Taggart, and is located in Kinsealy, a short hop from Portmarnock and the seaside.

It’s evident throughout that the developers have brought a fresh view to things by adding details which you wouldn’t normally find as standard in new homes and by keeping the development low-density.

“There are features to these houses which you would never usually see in standard development house”, says David Browne of selling agent Savills.

There are 12 homes launching on Saturday, two four-beds and 10 three-beds, ranging in size from 1,206 to 1528sq ft. This is the first release of the scheme, with the next expected at the end of the summer.

Attractive looking yellow-brick houses from the outside, they have some interesting details to complement the largely traditional interior.

The living rooms all have a wood-burning stove, which is unusual considering their BER A-rating. The doors leading from there to the kitchen slide into the walls themselves rather than open out, and white-painted coving and wall panelling come as standard.

There is a pantry, as well as the standard utility room, in the kitchens of the four-bed houses.

Extra two acres

There are double sinks in the en-suite of the master bedrooms, as well as a separate bath and shower in the main bathrooms.

An extra two acres of open space at the back of the site have been earmarked for development as a playground for children.

One drawback to the location is that Kinsealy does not have a Dart station, and buses can be time-consuming for a city commuter. There is a Dart station in Portmarnock however, which is about 2km away.

The showhouses are open for viewing this Saturday and Sunday, from 12 to 2pm.
