Monkstown house sells for over €4 million

Sales Results: Sherry FitzGerald has sold a large Victorian house facing the sea at Monkstown, Co Dublin, for a figure thought to be over €4 million.

The semi-detached, three-storey house had been withdrawn from auction earlier in the year, but found a buyer over the summer. The sale will provide a useful indicator for other properties in the area, where a number of large period houses are expected to come on the market this season.

Meanwhile, in Dalkey, Lennox Estates fetched a strong price of €4.05 million for Yonder on Ulverton Road, a three-bedroom house on a site of just over half an acre. The property was bought by auctioneer and property developer Corry McMahon who is likely to seek permission to build several houses on the grounds.
