One of Killarney's finest hotels, the four-star Cahernane House Hotel, is expected to make about £3

One of Killarney's finest hotels, the four-star Cahernane House Hotel, is expected to make about £3.2 million when it is sold by tender next month through joint agents Hamilton Osborne King and Tom Spillane & Co. The 45-bedroom hotel is based on an elegant period house dating from 1877 which was built for the Herbert family, the Earls of Pembroke. There are 23 bedrooms in the old house along with a diningroom with seating for 65. The remainder of the rooms are in a modern extension. The hotel stands on 13 acres of grounds which have superb views over Killarney's lakes.

Meanwhile, Lisney's Cork office is quoting between £3 million and £3.5 million for The Strand Hotel, a newly built 30-bedroom hotel in Clonakilty, Co Cork, which is to be sold shortly. The business has unutilised capital allowances of £2 million and a considerable part of it is available in the current tax year.
